Marinko Koščec

Marinko Koščec

Born in Zagreb in 1967. As if out of spite to other possibilities, if not in order to prove the lack of intelligence, he returns there from any journey. In 2000 he gave up for good playing chess professionally, football, rock music and fishing, and was employed as a teacher of French literature at the Faculty of Philosophy. In 2002 he won the Meša Selimović prize for the novel Netko drugi; he was a bit disappointed when it was awarded to someone else the following year. In 2003 he won half the VBZ prize for Wonderland; he seemed to take this even more badly as he was no longer awarded any prizes. Not knowing any better, he still writes novels. Sami is his eight.
