Laura Vinogradova
Laura Vinogradova was born in 1984 in northern Courland and has spent most of her life in Riga. She studied at the Riga Technical University and worked in a bank, but only began writing in her thirties. She cannot live without the presence of nature and believes that stories can save the world – we only need to wish to hear them. Her book The River (Upe) won the European Union Prize for Literature in 2021.
