Carolina Pihelgas

Carolina Pihelgas (Carolina Pihelgas, 1986) is an Estonian poet, prose writer, translator, and editor. She has published seven poetry collections and two novels, and her work most often explores themes of memory, intergenerational relationships, and violence. In 2025, she received Estonia’s first literary award for women’s writing for her short novel The Cutting Line (Lõikejoon). In addition to English, German, and Finnish, the novel has now also been translated into Serbian. Carolina Pihelgas translates poetry and is the editor-in-chief of Looming, Estonia’s oldest literary magazine.
